In 2019, Mick Sterling is celebrating his 39th year in the music business.  His career, like any musician doing it as long as he has, has experienced many changes, highlights, low-lights and everything in between.  What may be of interest to all of you is that even after all of this time, Sterling is finding new musical  and theatrical challenges and more excited about being in the music business than ever before.

Within those 39 years, Sterling has transformed himself from a young and energetic lead singer of throw-together bands in to one of the most recognized names in the Twin Cities music scene.   His band he led for 17 years and recently inducted in to the Mid-West Music Hall of Fame,  MICK STERLING AND THE STUD BROTHERS, falls in the category of the other legendary Twin Cities Soul and R&B bands such as Doug Maynard, Willie and the Bees, Lamont Cranston and others.  The band ended regular performances in 2005, but have performed periodic shows at their home base of BUNKERS MUSIC BAR AND GRILL since 2011 to rave reviews by huge crowds.  See the (4) shows on the PERFORMANCE schedule of this incredible band.

Sterling is also proud of the Corporate and Private Event project called A BAND CALLED SOUL,  This band features some of the top musicians and singers in the Twin Cities area.   It was specifically formed to provide top entertainment for companies in need of music for their events and for families that need a memorable and terrific night of music for their loved ones.

As a producer of many shows, Mick Sterling's event production company MICK STERLING PRESENTS has been proud to produce a large array of unique and diverse theatrical shows that feature some of the legendary names and songs of multiple genres.  All of these large bands (minimum ten members per band) feature some of the top musicians in the Twin Cities.   These amazing shows are performing in various theaters in the Midwest:

BEAUTIFUL VISION - The Essential Songs of Van Morrison

MEMPHIS & THE MEANTIMES - Celebrating the songs of The Grand Ole Opry and Sun Records

ELTONSONGS - The Deep Tracks and Hits of Elton John and Bernie Taupin 1970-76

All of these musical outlets may be confusing for some who know Sterling in one way, but for Sterling, it reflects his wide array of musical styles and love for all performing arts.

Since 1994, Sterling has also been known as a musician who likes to give back.  The founder of the respected and highly successful HEART & SOUL concerts for ONE HEARTLAND, (formerly Camp Heartland, a place for kids impacted by HIV/AIDS) raised nearly $500,000 in the 90's.

Sterling's latest non-profit, since 2011 is called THE 30-DAYS FOUNDATION,  This organization celebrates the simple act of kindness by providing financial grants for real life people experiencing personal and/or financial crisis.  Since founding it, Sterling and his foundation have helped over 90,000 families in the Twin Cities as it is an exclusive Twin Cities Charity.

Mick Sterling is continuing to explore new musical boundaries and finding new ways to communicate with his established audience and new ears to experience his music and philanthropic efforts.
